Shire Stays provides clean, comfortable serviced accommodation across Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Buckinghamshire. We’re a small, family-run business, and we do things the personal way – combining the ease of a professional short stay with the warmth and comfort of home.
Our properties range from cosy village cottages to modern town-centre apartments, all carefully looked after and thoughtfully equipped. Because we’re locals, we know the areas well and love helping guests feel settled, whether that’s sharing a great pub recommendation or simply making sure everything feels just right from the moment you arrive.
Most of our bookings and partnerships come through word of mouth. Real guests, real landlords, real experiences. That trust means everything to us, and it’s something we work hard to earn every day.

Our mission is simple: to look after people and properties properly.
We aim to give guests an easy, welcoming stay: spotless homes, clear communication, and thoughtful touches that make you feel at home. At the same time, we support our landlords with reliable management, peace of mind, and the confidence that their homes are cared for as if they were our own.
Our Story
Shire Stays was founded in 2021 by husband-and-wife team Frank and Gemma, inspired by years of travelling the world with their children and staying in Airbnbs and short-term lets along the way. Those experiences gave them a clear understanding of what really matters to guests — clean, comfortable homes, thoughtful details, and hosts who genuinely care.
Back home, they saw an opportunity to offer something better for both guests and local homeowners. Too often, short-let management felt impersonal or inconsistent, so Frank and Gemma set out to build a service rooted in trust, quality, and good old-fashioned hospitality.
What started with a single cosy cottage has grown steadily across three counties, largely through word of mouth and repeat bookings. While the portfolio has expanded, the approach hasn’t changed. Every home is still looked after with the same care and attention as that very first property, and many of our earliest guests and landlords remain part of the Shire Stays journey today.
